ABOUT
EDUCATOR AND ARTIST
Bren María Vienrich-Felling (she/her) is a Peruvian-born filmmaker, educator, and multimedia artist. She holds a B.A. in Studio Fine Arts from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an M.F.A. in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University. She has served as a Post-MFA Teaching Fellow in Cinematic Arts at Duke University, and as a Fellow at the Kenan Institute for Ethics. Bren’s work explores the intersections of ecology, third-culture identities, memory, and material image-making. Through handmade and expanded moving-image practices, she investigates how humans construct knowledge through stories, systems of observation, and relationships with the more-than-human world, treating film and multimedia as both a record of observation and a material process of inquiry. Her films have screened at the London Short Film Festival, Cosmic Rays Film Festival, Durham UK Film Festival, Micropolitan Film Festival, Moviate Underground Film Festival, and the Buenos Aires International Film Festival, among others.
MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION
Bren’s multimedia practice spans art direction, post-production editing, animation, photography, illustration, print production and digital design. With over a decade of experience in visual storytelling, she has led projects from concept to completion, creating educational media, video, animation, illustration, and digital design collateral for clients across higher education, healthcare, technology, nonprofit, retail, SaaS, and eLearning. Her collaborators have included Duke University, North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, UNC Health Rex, Cisco, McAfee, State Employees Credit Union, Kimley-Horn, McAdams, Duke Arts and the Nasher Museum, among others. Grounded in a documentary sensibility and a background in design thinking across many mediums, Bren approaches every project with curiosity, collaboration, and attention to craft. Whether producing educational media, visual identities, or documentary films, she creates thoughtful, human-centered work that translates complex ideas into compelling stories and meaningful experiences.
